Vespa

Day 013/100

Vespa is a scooter designed by Corradino D’Ascanio and produced by Piaggio since 1946. Vespa is both Latin and Italian for wasp, derived from the vehicle’s body shape: the thicker rear part connected to the front part by a narrow waist, and the steering rod resembled antennae. Vespa gained its popularity for the design, the friendliness (step on instead of climb on) and the affordable prices. It is now a collector’s item and featured in many museums.
